Artistic Journey
Michael Hern is a Canadian painter based in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. He studied fine art at Fanshawe College in London Ontario, then to the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (N.S.C.A.D.) in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He has lived in Wuhan, China, South Korea before settling in Vietnam. Most of his artworks depict the urban life of the alleyways of Saigon, as well as other locations in the country. There are other locations from his travels depicted as well, but he is mostly drawn to the neighbourhoods of his present surroundings, never tiring of exploring new areas to influence future paintings. Whether they are the bustle of traffic, or mundane simple frontal scenes of aged neighbourhoods, there is always something here to catch his eye.
